Widex Allure: The Newest Widex Hearing Platform

 

Widex Allure™ is the company’s newest hearing-aid platform. Powered by the Widex W1 chip, Allure is designed to balance two important listening goals: understanding speech clearly and remaining aware of meaningful sounds in the surrounding environment.

Allure PureSound

​

All hearing aids process sound, and that processing takes a small amount of time. When processed sound reaches the eardrum slightly later than naturally occurring sound, the two signals can sometimes interfere with one another.

​

Widex PureSound™ uses ZeroDelay™ technology to reduce that processing delay. For appropriate hearing losses and fittings, this can create a clearer and more natural listening experience—particularly for new hearing-aid users and people with mild hearing loss.

 

Speech Enhancer Pro

​

Background noise is one of the most common challenges reported by people with hearing loss.

Widex Speech Enhancer Pro is designed to enhance speech while softening unwanted noise. Rather than completely shutting out the surrounding environment, it aims to maintain a useful balance between speech focus and environmental awareness.

Automatic Sound Classification

The Allure Enhanced Sound Classifier recognizes changes in the listening environment and automatically adjusts the hearing aids. This helps reduce the need to manually change programs when moving between situations such as:

Allure ITE R D

 

The Allure ITE R D places Widex Allure technology inside a custom in-the-ear design.

Widex SmartRIC

Widex SmartRIC™ remains a distinctive rechargeable receiver-in-the-canal option for people who value natural sound and portable charging.

Its L-shaped design changes the angle at which the microphones sit on the ear. This positioning is intended to improve microphone directionality and help reduce wind and handling noise.

SmartRIC uses the Widex Moment platform, while Allure represents Widex’s newer hearing-aid platform. Newer does not automatically mean better for every patient. Sound preference, physical fit, phone compatibility, tinnitus needs, lifestyle, and pricing should all be considered.

SmartRIC Portable Charging

​

A full SmartRIC charge takes approximately four hours and may provide up to 37 hours of use under expected conditions. A 30-minute quick charge may provide up to eight hours of use.

The portable charger can store enough power for as many as five additional full charges before the charger itself needs to be connected to power.

Actual battery performance varies according to hearing-loss settings, battery age, streaming time, wireless accessories, environment, and activated features.

Widex Allure App

​

The Widex Allure app is designed to make hearing-aid controls accessible for both experienced and less technology-oriented users.

SmartRIC and compatible Moment hearing aids use the Widex Moment app. It provides volume and program controls, personal sound adjustments, battery information, and access to compatible tinnitus-support features.

App availability and functions depend on the hearing-aid model, smartphone, operating system, and software version.

Bluetooth, Calls, and Audio Streaming

 

Compatible Widex hearing aids can stream calls, music, podcasts, videos, and other audio directly from supported smartphones and devices.

Available functions may include:

Widex Sound Assist

​

Widex Sound Assist™ is a compact multipurpose accessory that can function as a:

  • Remote microphone

  • Hands-free calling interface

  • Telecoil audio receiver

 

A remote microphone can be especially useful when the person speaking is far away or when background noise makes conversation difficult.

Widex SoundConnect

​

Widex SoundConnect™ allows compatible Widex hearing aids to receive audio from a computer. It may be helpful for video calls, online meetings, entertainment, and other computer-based listening.

​

Widex TV Play

​

Widex TV Play™ streams television audio directly to compatible hearing aids. This allows the hearing-aid wearer to select a comfortable listening level without requiring everyone else in the room to use the same television volume.

​

Rechargeable Widex Hearing Aids

​

Widex offers several charging options, depending on the hearing-aid model:

  • Standard Charger: A compact everyday charging station

  • Portable Charger: Stores additional power for charging away from an outlet

  • Charge n Clean: Charges while providing automatic drying and sanitization

 

Allure RIC may provide up to 38 hours of use, or approximately 32 hours with five hours of streaming, after a four-hour charge. A 30-minute quick charge can provide up to four hours of use.

Battery life varies significantly with use and should not be treated as a guarantee.

 

Widex Tinnitus Technology

Widex is widely recognized for its tinnitus-management features.

Widex Zen Therapy combines several possible components:

  • Professional counseling and education

  • Hearing-loss treatment through amplification

  • Relaxation strategies

  • Fractal sound therapy

 

Widex Zen produces randomized, chime-like tones designed to promote relaxation and make tinnitus less noticeable. Widex SoundRelax provides additional fractal sounds that may support relaxation, concentration, and overall well-being.

These features do not cure tinnitus, and they may not be appropriate for every person. They are most effective when included in an individualized tinnitus-management plan.

Tinnitus that is new, only occurs in one ear, follows the heartbeat, or appears with sudden hearing loss, dizziness, pain, drainage, or neurological symptoms should receive prompt medical evaluation.
